שאלות נפוצות הן רשימות של שאלות ותשובות, אשר מאפשרות לך להסביר את הכללים, מדיניות, ונהלים של האתר למבקרים שלך. השאלות נוגעות בדרך כלל לפרטיות, זכויות יוצרים, חשבונות המשתמשים, תוכן בלתי מתאים, דרישה למקורות, וכו׳. אתה יכול להשתמש ב-HTML כדי לעצב את התשובה או להוסיף קישורים לאתרים אחרים.

This is a quick ‘how to’ that describes how to create a Site FAQ list. The webtrees support team strongly recommends that you consider the addition of a site FAQ as one of the most important parts of preparing a properly configured webtrees site.

The FAQ link, once enabled, will show under the ‘Help’ menu item. The FAQ for your site should of course be about your site: you can give background info on the site, give guidelines on how the site is run, or perhaps links to where users can find additional info and help. You may wish to include a terms and conditions of use statement, and describe your privacy policy.

In webtrees, only administrators or managers may create and manage FAQs; and only administrators have permission to create the first FAQ, which then establishes the ability for managers to continue to add, edit or delete any FAQ on the family tree(s) which they manage.

In order to Initialize and create your sites’ FAQ list:

  1. Navigate to your Administration page.
  2. In the left hand Administration list, click on the word Modules
  3. Navigate to the Module named FAQ and be sure you have “Enabled” the FAQ function by ticking the box, then at the bottom of that page, click “Save”.
  4. In the left hand Administration navigation list, click on the word FAQ (near bottom of side menu bar).
  5. Click on Add FAQ item
  6. Enter a Question (Title) and Answer
  7. Save your entry.

Note: If you wish your newly created FAQ to apply to every language, do not tick any languages. Your FAQ will be visible to users in any language. Choose a specific language if you are creating and entering the FAQ into a specific language available on your site.

Now that you have an FAQ created, you may return to the main site. You will see the FAQ link under the Help menu icon. Clicking on that icon will list your FAQs (at first, just the new one. If you are logged-in as a manager or administrator, you can now edit that one or add more FAQs without any need to return to the Administration page.
